Bad Entertainment Can Cost You $1,000′s
In todays economy many Brides are cutting back on their wedding
budget and shopping for the best price they can find. From
invitations to entertainment, Brides are looking to save thousands
on their wedding.
I read a request from a Bride looking for a venue that can hold 300
people, yet she only had $4,000 to spend for her entire wedding.
I don’t think she realizes that it may cost her $4,000 just to feed
300 guests.
Many think of wedding Disc Jockeys as just music for their reception.
Therefore shop Disc Jockeys for the best price. The cheaper DJ is not
the better value. In fact a cheap DJ can cost you $1,000′s.
Cheap entertainment is not good, & good entertainment is not cheap.
Think of it this way… Let’s say you have a budget of $15,000 for your
wedding. That’s half of the Phoenix average spent for a wedding at $30k.
You’re planning on a 5 hour wedding. $15k – 5 hour wedding. That comes
to $3,000 per hour. You could also add the amount of time invested in
planning your wedding.
If your guests leave 1 hour early and because the entertainment was poor,
you end up loosing $3,000. Don’t think for a minute that this won’t happen.
It happens every week somewhere at somebody’s wedding. Have you ever
gone to the movies and left early, or wanted to walk out because the movie
was bad. How long does a bad movie remain playing at the theaters?
Not all movies are good, and not all Disc Jockeys are the same.
How do you want your wedding to be remembered?
If you’re looking to cut back, I would recommend taking a hard look at your
guest list. If your planning on inviting over 150 guests, take a look at who
your inviting. You can save $1,000 by cutting your list in half by inviting only
your closest friends and family. The people that truly love & care about you
and your wedding. These are the people that will celebrate with you till the
end of your reception. Cut out the guests you rarely see and may end up
leaving shortly after dinner.
You can save $5,000 just by eliminating 50 guests at $100 per plate.
Then you can use the extra to money to hire better quality entertainment
& maybe even hiring the photographer you really want that had the amazing
portfolios.
Don’t compromise your wedding it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Cut corners with commodities i.e. party favors, centerpieces,
programs, etc..The things that won’t matter years latter.
Don’t compromise great service.
You will never forget your wedding day. Make sure it’s a positive,
fun, memory, and not a negative one where your guest couldn’t
wait to leave.
