Reasonable Price

What is a reasonable price?

I got a call from a potential client who left a message on my phone. She had called me previously to see about booking my services for a Holiday party. She called back a week latter to inform me that she had booked another DJ that was more reasonably priced. This particular client had seen me work a 50th wedding anniversary party , that is how she found me for her party. I am guessing she never had a chance to see this other DJ in action. If so, then how in the world does she know the other DJ is more reasonably priced?
The biggest misperception out there is all Disc Jockeys are the same, and the cheaper DJ is the better value. If all food were the same, why wouldn’t we all serve McDonald’s for important catered events? After all, it is the cheapest and you get the same results, right? McDonald’s is reasonably priced for fast food, but we do not serve fast food for important events like weddings or Holiday parties.

Low priced Disc Jockey’s are not only ripping you off but they’re also ripping off themselves. A friend that is also a wedding DJ called me to tell me that he lost business to another DJ that charges less then half his price.
Also that is DJ’s told this couple that he basically does the same thing my DJ friend does. Really? How can they do that?

I found out that this DJ business is a full-time husband & wife team that spends a great deal of money on advertising. So how can they make a livable wage charging clients much less an the average rate? It’s simple, one reason, they also do videography, second, since they advertise so much and charge a minimal fee, they book more weddings per week.

Save Money, Be Sense-able

Bad Entertainment Can Cost You $1,000’s

In todays economy many Brides are cutting back on their wedding
budget and shopping for the best price they can find. From
invitations to entertainment, Brides are looking to save thousands
on their wedding.

I read a request from a Bride looking for a venue that can hold 300
people, yet she only had $4,000 to spend for her entire wedding.
I don’t think she realizes that it may cost her $4,000 just to feed
300 guests.
Many think of wedding Disc Jockeys as just music for their reception.
Therefore shop Disc Jockeys for the best price. The cheaper DJ is not
the better value. In fact a cheap DJ can cost you $1,000’s.
